Sauerland-Rothaargebirge Nature Park

The gate of Altena Castle can be seen symbolically as the western entrance gate to the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge Nature Park.

This clip was produced to briefly introduce the relatively new nature park. Observant connoisseurs will notice that many of the shots were filmed in Altena and thus show Altena's castle, the Lenneterrassen and the unmistakable hilly forest mountains.

The Sauerland-Rothaargebirge Nature Park is South Westphalia's newest gem in terms of nature conservation and recreation, comprising the former Ebbegebirge (777 km²), Homert (550 km²) and Rothaargebirge (1355 km²) nature parks, which have been merged with other areas.
